A return visit to record the result once repairs are done. Kaarr produces the report in your name as the visit ends, so the job can be closed with evidence.
A contractor saying a repair is finished is not the same as the repair being finished. A post-works re-inspection is the check that closes the loop: was the problem fixed, was the work done to a reasonable standard, and is the property left clean and safe.
For landlords it protects the spend. For tenants it confirms the problem has gone. For agents it is the evidence that the issue raised was resolved.
Housing providers use the same step to close out remedial actions. A Category 1 hazard, an electrical defect or a damp and mould case is not finished until a re-inspection says so, and the record needs to show it. See Kaarr for housing associations.
A return visit after repairs or remedial works, to check the work was completed and the issue is resolved, and to record the result.
Ideally someone independent of the contractor who did the work, such as the agent or a surveyor, so the check is genuine.
The report should reference the visit that raised the issue. Dated photographs let the before and after be compared.
A dated re-inspection report is the record that the issue raised was actually put right.
